Thrashers Reassign Francis Lessard to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned forward Francis Lessard to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. The team’s active roster now stands at 22, with an additional two players on Injured Reserve.

Lessard, 26, was scoreless in six games with the Thrashers this season. The 6-3, 225-pound right wing has earned four points (one goal, three assists) and 268 penalty minutes in 85 NHL games with Atlanta from 2002-05.

The native of Montreal, Quebec, set career highs with two points (one goal, one assist), 181 penalty minutes and 62 games in 2003-04. Lessard has recorded 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) and 1,225 penalty minutes in 259 career AHL games with Philadelphia and Atlanta from 1999-2003.
