Turner Stevenson Out Eight to Twelve Weeks
Monday, Oct. 17th, 2005
Turner Stevenson will undergo surgery on a torn labrum in his right hip on Tuesday, October 18 in Nashville, Tennessee, according to Flyers Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach Jim McCrossin. He will miss eight-to-12 weeks recovering from the surgery. In three games with the Flyers so far this season, the 6’3’’, 235-pound right wing has one goal.
Said Flyers Head Coach Ken Hitchcock: “It’s a big hit. Him and [Sami] Kapanen, that was really going to be two-thirds of a checking line, so thank god we’ve had other people play well. [Branko] Radivojevic has played terrific, and [Patrick] Sharp has played really well lately on the right side. We’ve been able to muster through it. I think this just knocks us a notch down on our depth.”
