Penguins Re-Sign Brooks Orpik

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed defenseman Brooks Orpik, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.
Orpik, 24, played in 79 games with the Penguins during his rookie season with the Penguins in 2003-04, recording 10 points (1+9) and a team-leading 127 penalty minutes.
Orpik was selected to the Eastern Conference’s YoungStars roster during the NHL All-Star Weekend in St. Paul in 2004.
Orpik appeared in playoff 24 games with Wilkes-Barre in 2003-04, recording four assists and 53 penalty minutes.
The 6-2 and 228-pound native of San Francisco, California was drafted by the Penguins in the first round (18th overall) of the 2000 Entry Draft.
