Predators Sign Scott Nichol

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed center Scott Nichol.
Nichol, 30 (12/31/74), has posted 45 points (20g-25a) and 415 penalty minutes in 208 career NHL games with Buffalo, Calgary and Chicago. The Edmonton native led the Blackhawks in penalty minutes (145) and face-off win percentage (57.4%) and registered career highs in games played (75), assists (11), points (18) and average ice time (15:46) in 2003-04.
The 5-8, 173-pound center established a career-high and led Calgary in penalty minutes (149) in 2002-03. Nichol was originally Buffalo’s ninth selection, 272nd overall (11th round) in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
