Predators Agree to Terms With Allison and Finley

Nashville, Tenn. - Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has agreed to contract terms with defenseman Jamie Allison and goaltender Brian Finley.
Allison, 30 (5/13/75), returns to Nashville where he registered three assists and 76 penalty minutes in 47 games in 2003-04. The 6-1, 210-pound Lindsay, Ontario native has notched 29 points (7g-22a) and 583 penalty minutes in 345 NHL games with Nashville, Calgary, Chicago and Columbus over the past 10 seasons. The physical blueliner, who originally signed with the Predators as a free agent on September 10, 2003, did not play in 2004-05.
Finley, 24 (7/3/81), set pro-career bests this past season in games played (64), wins (36), goals-against average (2.29) and save percentage (.921) with Milwaukee. In his third pro campaign (after missing the entire 2001-02 campaign while rehabilitating a groin injury), the 6-3, 205-pound Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. native ranked second among AHL goalies in appearances, third in wins, and tied for fourth with a Milwaukee franchise-record seven shutouts.
Finley has appeared in one NHL game with Nashville (January 1, 2003 vs. Colorado). He was the Predators' first selection, sixth overall (first round), in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Poile also announced today that the club has made qualifying offers to the following Group II restricted free agents: Simon Gamache, Dan Hamhuis, Scott Hartnell, Darren Haydar, Darcy Hordichuk, David Legwand, Andrei Mukhachev, Steve Sullivan, Jeremy Yablonski, and Greg Zanon. The Predators will continue to retain the rights to Martin Erat and Adam Hall, both of whom were made qualifying offers in 2004 but went unsigned.
The following Group II free agents were not made qualifying offers and will become unrestricted free agents tomorrow: Mark Eaton, Andreas Lilja, Vladimir Orszagh and Wyatt Smith.
The following Group III free agents will become unrestricted free agents tomorrow: Tony Hrkac and Jim McKenzie.
