Wednesday, Oct. 9th, 2013

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Wednesday that defenseman Greg Coburn has agreed to terms with the team for the 2013-14 season.

Coburn, 25, enters his rookie season after four years (2009-13) at Union College. The 6-foot, 174-pound defenseman posted 20 goals and 53 assists during his time with the Dutchmen, and spent four seasons (2009-13) playing alongside Wranglers defenseman Ryan Forgaard and three seasons (2009-12) playing with Wranglers defenseman Nolan Julseth-White. Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Coburn was part of the Union squads to finish both the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons as ECAC Hockey champions, and helped advance Union to their first Frozen Four appearance in 2012 as well.

Before college, Coburn played three years (2006-09) with Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Yorkton Terries. He recorded 23 goals and 64 assists in 162 games, and donned the alternate captain “A” his final year.
