Worcester Signs Collin Bowman, Steven Tarasuk and Ryan McDonough

WORCESTER – Worcester Sharks General Manager Joe Will announced the signing of defensemen Collin Bowman and Steven Tarasuk along with forward Ryan McDonough to two-way AHL/ECHL contracts for the 2013-14 season.

Bowman, 22, enters his second season as a professional having spent last season with the Colorado Eagles (ECHL) accumulating 34 points (11-23-34) and 102 penalty minutes in 69 games. Before turning pro the 6-foot-3 215lb defenseman and native of Littleton, CO played five full seasons in the WHL with the Kelowna Rockets, Moose Jaw Warriors, and the Calgary Hitmen recording 148 points (35-113-148) in 346 games.

Tarasuk, 23, enters his fourth season as a professional having spent last year with the Lausitzer Foxes in Germany accumulating 32 points (10-22-32) in 43 games. Steven has skated in 135 games in the ECHL with Kalamazoo, Ontario, and Idaho recording 63 points (12-51-63) and has also played three games in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Before turning pro, the 5-foot-10 170lbs defenseman and native of Thornhill, ONT played five seasons in the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers and the London Knights (OHL) recording 130 points (28-102-130) in 252 games.

McDonough, 25, enters his sixth season as a professional, his first in North America, including the last two seasons with the Hannover Indians in Germany where he accumulated 77 points (28-59-77) in 87 games. Before turning pro, the 5-foot-9 180lb forward and native of Etobicoke, ONT played four seasons with the Saginaw Spirit (OHL) recording 284 points (133-151-284) in 258 games. Ryan has also played in Austria and Italy.
