Canucks Sign Jason Garrison

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed defenceman Jason Garrison to a six-year deal.
Garrison, 27, recorded 33 points (16-17-33) and 32 penalty minutes in 77 games with the Florida Panthers last season. With 16 goals during the 2011.12 season, Garrison set a franchise single season record among defenceman while averaging 23:41 in time on ice. In four playoff games, Garrison earned three points (1-2-3). The White Rock, British Columbia native has played 190 career NHL games with the Florida scoring 23 goals, 36 assists (23-36-59) and logging 81 penalty minutes.
The 6’2”, 220-pound undrafted defenceman was signed by the Panthers in 2008 after three seasons with the University of Minnesota Duluth of the WCHA.
