Islanders Sign Eric Boulton

The New York Islanders officially announced today that forward Eric Boulton has agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Boulton, 35, recorded 115 penalty minutes in 51 games last season with the New Jersey Devils. In 600 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers and New Jersey, the Halifax, NS, native has 73 points (27 goals, 46 assists) and 1,265 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in four Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Thrashers.

The New York Rangers selected Boulton in the ninth round, 234th overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut in the 1996-97 season after completing a three-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League, split between the Oshawa Generals and the Sarnia Sting. Boulton, a 6’1, 220-pound forward, has appeared in 133 career American Hockey League games and 171 ECHL games.
