Shane Doan Fined $2,500 for Boarding Incident

NEW YORK - Phoenix Coyotes forward Shane Doan has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Calgary Flames defenseman Mark Giordano during NHL Game #1058 in Calgary on Thursday, March 15, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 7:49 of the first period. Doan was assessed a minor penalty for boarding on the play.
The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
