Oilers Sign Hemsky to Two-Year Extension

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with right-winger Ales Hemsky on a two-year contract extension.
Hemsky, 28, has spent his entire nine year National Hockey League career with the Oilers and in 537 games he has 421 points (119G, 302A).
The 6’0”, 185-pound Pardubice, Czech Republic native has 26 points (5G, 21A) in 47 games this season.
Hemsky’s best season came in 2005-06 when he had 77 points (19G, 58A) in 81 games. He has also had two 20+goal campaigns in 2007-08 and 2008-09 and was selected to play in the 2011 NHL All-Star Game.
Hemsky was selected by Edmonton in the 1st round, 13th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
