Stars Ship Krys Barch to Florida

Frisco, TX – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has traded right wing Krys Barch and Dallas' sixth-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for left wing Jake Hauswirth and Florida's fifth-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Hauswirth, 23, has collected 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in 16 games this season for the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL). The 6-5, 218-pound left wing from Houghton, MI has recorded points in four straight games for the Killer Bees (1 goal, 4 assists). During the 2010-11 campaign, Hauswirth began the season with South Carolina Sting Rays of the ECHL, skating in 37 games and collecting 14 points (10 goals, 4 assists). On Feb. 28, 2011, Hauswirth was traded to Florida from Washington in exchange for defenseman Dennis Wideman and finished the year with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL). In 12 games with Cincinnati, he collected 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists).

Barch, 31, has skated in 10 games this season with Dallas with 23 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-1, 237-pound right wing from Hamilton, ON has played all of his 263 career NHL games in a Dallas Stars uniform, collecting 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) and 578 PIM. During the 2010-11 season, Barch ranked third on the club in penalty minutes (80 PIM) and skated in 44 games.
