Coyotes Recall Defenseman Maxim Goncharov

GLENDALE, ARIZOANA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Maxim Goncharov from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate.
The 6-foot-3, 216 pound Goncharov has played 16 games with the Pirates this season, recording 1-2-3 and 16 penalty minutes. Last season, the 22-year-old native of Moscow, Russia played 61 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), registering 6-9-15 and 65 penalty minutes.
Goncahrov was drafted by the Coyotes in the fifth round (123rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
