Toronto Agrees to New Contract With Matt Lashoff

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that the hockey club has signed defenceman Matt Lashoff to a one-year contract.

Lashoff, 24, played 11 games for the Maple Leafs this past season collecting one assist and six penalty minutes. He also played 69 games for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and collected 28 points on seven goals and 21 assists along with a team high 137 penalty minutes. The East Greenbush, New York native also ranked second among Marlies defencemen in points. The Leafs originally acquired the 6-2, 204-pound defenceman from Tampa Bay on August 27, 2010. He was Boston’s first choice, 22nd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
