Edmonton Signs Darcy Hordichuk and Cam Barker

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with defenceman Cam Barker and left-winger Darcy Hordichuk on one-year contracts.
Barker, 25, played last season with the Minnesota Wild scoring a goal and adding four assists in 52 games.
The 6’3”, 215-pound Winnipeg, MB native has played in 271 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Wild collecting 92 points (19G, 73A) and 263 penalty minutes.
Barker, who was drafted 3rd overall in 2004 by Chicago played junior with the WHL’s Medicine Hat Tigers. In 213 games he had 179 points (51G, 128A) and 192 penalty minutes.
Hordichuk, 30, played with the Florida Panthers last season playing 64 games scoring a goal and adding four assists with 76 penalty minutes.
The 6’1”, 218-pound Kamsack, SK native has appeared in 495 career NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks, Nashville Predators, Atlanta Thrashers, Phoenix Coyotes and Panthers collecting 38 points (19G, 19A) and 1,074 points.
