Krys Barch Placed on IR; Wathier Assigned to Texas

Frisco, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the NHL club has placed Krys Barch on Injured Reserve with a facial injury, retroactive to Feb. 3, when he suffered the injury at Boston. The team also announced that it has assigned left wing Francis Wathier to the Texas Stars, Dallas’ development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Barch, 30, has appeared in 32 games for Dallas this season, scoring one goal and one assist with 80 penalty minutes. He originally signed with Dallas as a free agent on July 18, 2006.
Wathier, 26, has appeared in three games for Dallas this season, going scoreless. He has also played in 44 AHL games for Texas, recording 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Wathier represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 31 in Hershey, Penn. The 6-3, 208-pound winger was Dallas’ sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
