Blue Jackets Re-Sign Tom Sestito

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed forward Tom Sestito to a one-year, two-way NHL-American Hockey League contract, General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Sestito, 22, had seven penalty minutes in three games with the Blue Jackets in 2009-10. He also collected 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points and 138 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Syracuse Crunch. He ranked third on the club in penalty minutes and power play goals (tied-6).

Columbus’ third pick, 85th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft, Sestito has registered 25-35-60 and 508 penalty minutes in 154 career AHL games. He made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets against St. Louis on April 6, 2008 and registered 17 penalty minutes in the game. Prior to his professional career, he tallied 53-35-88, 399 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +3 in 152 games with Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League from 2004-2007.
