Canucks Sign Manny Malhotra to Three-Year Deal

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed centre Manny Malhotra to a three-year deal.

Malhotra, 30, recorded 33 points (14-19-33) and finished +17 in 71 regular season games with the San Jose Sharks in 2009.10. He also played in 15 playoff games, registering a goal and finishing second in the NHL in faceoff percentage, winning 60.7 percent of draws taken.

The Mississauga, ON native has played in 705 NHL games, registering 230 points (90-140-230) with San Jose, Columbus, Dallas and the New York Rangers.

Malhotra was a member of the bronze-medal winning Canadian team at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2000. He also represented Canada at the World Championships in 2002.

The 6’2”, 202-lbs centreman was originally selected seventh overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers.
