Habs Lock Up Tom Pyatt for One Year

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens have signed Tom Pyatt to a one-year deal.
Pyatt, 23, completed in 2009-10 his first season in the NHL. The centreman registered five points (two goals, three assists), and fired 48 shots on goal in 40 games. He played his first game in the NHL on November 5 against the Bruins in Boston and registered his first goal on February 10 against Washington. Pyatt added four points (two goals, two assists) and 26 shots on goal in 18 playoff contests.
The 5-11, 187-pound forward also recorded 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) and maintained a +17 plus/minus differential in 41 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs. He also added 90 shots on goal and eight penalty minutes.
A native of a Thunder Bay, ON, Pyatt was selected in the fourth round, 107th overall by the New York Rangers at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canadiens in a transaction with the Rangers on June 30, 2009.
