Blue Jackets Activate Mike Commodore

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Mike Commodore off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Commodore, 30, was injured in the Blue Jackets game at St. Louis on January 30 and has missed seven games due to the injury. He has registered nine assists and 48 penalty minutes in 39 games. Last season, he tallied 5-19-24, 100 penalty minutes and had a +11 plus/minus rating in 81 games with Columbus. He led the club and ranked tied for 14th in the NHL with 162 blocked shots, while ranking 21st in the NHL in hits with 201 to his credit. In 416 career games with New Jersey, Calgary, Carolina, Ottawa and Columbus, he has tallied 19-77-96 and 587 penalty minutes.
