Columbus Re-Signs Forward Mike Blunden

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed left wing Mike Blunden to a one-year, two-way NHL-American Hockey League contracts, General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Blunden, 23, collected 12-19-31 and 110 penalty minutes in 76 games with Syracuse and Rockford last season. Acquired by the Blue Jackets from Chicago in exchange for forward Adam Pineault on January 10, he has registered 33-50-83, 210 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +9 in 178 career AHL games. Chicago’s second pick, 43rd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, he has appeared in 10 games with the Blackhawks and registered 10 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut against the Vancouver Canucks on October 25, 2006.
