Kings Agree to Terms With Scott Parse

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Scott Parse, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Parse was the club's sixth-round selection (174th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Parse, 25, recorded 39 points (15-24=39) and 38 penalty minutes for the American Hockey League's Manchester Monarchs in 2008-09. His 39 points was fifth on Manchester, while his 15 goals were tied for fourth on the team. Parse also held a plus-6 rating, which ranked second on the Monarchs.

In 2007-08, his first full professional season, Parse appeared in 14 games for Manchester (0-3=3) and 18 games for the ECHL's Reading Royals (5-11=16). After his senior season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in March 2007 Parse joined the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins and appeared in 10 regular season games (2-5=7) and seven playoff games (1-0=1).

During his four-year tenure at UNO Parse recorded 197 points (79-118=197) and 160 penalty minutes in 159 games. He led his team in scoring and was named team MVP all four years and left the school as its all-time scoring leader.
