Hal Gill Heading to Montreal

MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced Wednesday the signing of defenceman Hal Gill to a two-year contract (2009-10 to 2010-11).
Last season, Gill, 34, played in 62 games with the Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins. He registered 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists), amassed 53 penalty minutes with a +11 plus/minus rating and an average ice time of 17:53 minutes.
The Concord, Massachusetts native will be entering his 13th NHL season in 2009-10. He played in a total of 851 career regular season games in the NHL with Boston, Toronto and Pittsburgh recording 151 points (31 goals, 120 assists), served 800 penalty minutes and is a +69 plus/minus rating. Gill played 80 NHL career playoff games.
The 6’7’’, 250-pound defenceman was an 8th round selection by the Bruins, 207th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
