Canucks Recall Jeff Cowan

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that left winger Jeff Cowan has been recalled from Peoria of the AHL.

Cowan, 32, ranked fifth among Rivermen skaters in PIM (94) and recorded 15 points (5-10-15) in 71 games. The nine-year NHL veteran has appeared in 413 career games, recording 81 points (47-34-81) and has compiled 695 career penalty minutes.

Cowan has played in 88 regular season games with the Canucks, posting 11 points (7-4-11) and 203 penalty minutes. In 10 career playoff games, Cowan has recorded two goals, including the overtime game-winning goal against Anaheim in the 2007 Western Conference Semi-Finals.

Last season, the Scarborough, Ontario native appeared in 46 games with the Canucks recording an assist and 110 penalty minutes.
