Buffalo Inks Connolly to Two-Year Extension

Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed forward Tim Connolly to a two-year contract extension.
Connolly (5/7/1981, 6’1, 190 lbs.) has 26 points (11+15) in 29 games this season. Included in Connolly’s 11 goals are three game-winners, two power play goals and one shorthanded goal. The Sabres are 7-1 this season when Connolly scores in a game. With 66 points (18+48) in 77 games over the past two seasons, Connolly is averaging .86 points per game.
Since joining Buffalo in 2001, Connolly has 192 points (57+135) in 304 games. For his career, he has 267 points (81+186) in 467 games with the Sabres and Islanders. Connolly also has 20 points (5+15) in 24 career playoff games with Buffalo.
A native of Syracuse, NY, Connolly was acquired from the NY Islanders along with Taylor Pyatt in exchange for Michael Peca on June 24, 2001. Connolly was originally selected in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
