Kings Place Ivanans on IR, Activate Preissing

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have activated defenseman Tom Preissing off the injured reserve list and have placed forward Raitis Ivanans on the injured reserve list due to an upper body injury, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Preissing, 30, was placed on the injured reserve list on February 10 (retroactive to February 1) due to an upper body injury. In 22 games this season, the 6-0, 197-pounder from Arlington Heights, Illinois, has seven points (3-4=7) and six penalty minutes.

Ivanans, 30, suffered an injury during the second period of the Kings-Red Wings game in Detroit on Friday night. In 60 games this season, the 6-4, 256-pounder from Riga, Latvia, has two points – both goals – and a team-leading 115 penalty minutes.
