Thrashers Reassign Forward Jordan LaVallee to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned forward Jordan LaVallee to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell.
LaVallee, 22, appeared in two games with the Thrashers since being recalled from Chicago on Feb. 12. He averaged 6:39 of ice time in those contests.
The 6-3, 220-pound left wing has recorded 23 points (15 goals, eight assists) and 44 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Wolves this season. At the time of his recall, he ranked second on the team in goals and was tied for the team lead in shorthanded goals (three). In his last eight games with Chicago, LaVallee recorded six goals and 23 shots.
LaVallee made his NHL debut with the Thrashers last season, appeared in two games while recording his first NHL goal and assist on April 1 against Florida. He also appeared in 76 games for the Wolves in 2007-08, earning 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) while helping Chicago capture the Calder Cup Championship.
The Corvallis, Oregon native has recorded 99 points (51 goals, 48 assists) and 207 penalty minutes in 201 games over three seasons with the Wolves. He has also appeared in 28 career playoff games for the Wolves, recording 16 points (10 goals, six assists) in two playoff seasons.
LaVallee was originally selected by the Thrashers in fourth round, 113th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to his professional career, he spent four seasons with Quebec of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, recording 139 points (72 goals, 67 assists) in 225 games from 2002-03 to 2005-06. During his last season with the Remparts, he guided Quebec to the Canadian Hockey League’s Memorial Cup Championship.
