Alex Henry Assigned to Hamilton

MONTREAL – The Canadiens announced Wednesday that defenseman Alex Henry has been reassigned to the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.

Henry was recalled by the Canadiens on February 1st. He played in the team’s last two games, and registered ten penalty minutes.

Henry (6’6’’, 230 lbs) scored eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) in 47 games with the Bulldogs this season. The 29-year-old also posted a plus-9 rating with 70 penalty minutes.

Before joining the Canadiens as a free agent on July 3, 2008, the Elliot Lake, Ontario native played 175 games in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers, the Washington Capitals and the Minnesota Wild. He registered 11 points and 259 penalty minutes.

Henry was drafted in the third round, 67th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 1998.
