Salmon Kings Extend Winning Streak to 15 Games

Posting back-to-back wins against Ontario on Friday and Saturday Victoria extended its winning streak to 15 games which is the second-longest winning streak in the 21-year history of the ECHL.
The Salmon Kings travel to Alaska for games on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Victoria has won the last three meetings to improve to 4-1-1 in the season series. It will be the first meeting this season at Alaska where the Salmon Kings are 3-2-0 in their last five games. The Aces are 15-5-1 at home and 32-13-4 overall against Victoria.
Cincinnati holds the ECHL record with a 17-game winning streak from Jan. 16-Feb. 29, 2008. The Salmon Kings have won all 15 of their games in regulation giving them the record for the longest streak of regulation wins as the Cyclones had three shootout wins and an overtime victory during their streak.
The Salmon Kings have won their last four road games, one shy of the team record of five road wins in a row set Mar. 5-20, 1998 when the team played in Baton Rouge, La.
Victoria has won 11 home games in a row which is their longest home winning streak since a club record 12 consecutive home wins in 1988-89. The record for consecutive wins was 12 games when the club played in Erie, Pa. in 1989-90.
Since beginning the season 3-6-0, the Salmon Kings have gone 23-3-2 to improve to 26-9-2 with a league-leading 26 wins and 54 points. Victoria leads the league in goals-against average with 2.14 and is third with 3.62 goals per game. The Salmon Kings are tied for third with eight shorthand goals and are tied for the league lead with two shorthand goals allowed. Victoria is 20-5-1 when it scores the first goal, 7-1-0 when tied after two periods and 18-0-1 when leading after two periods.
The goaltending chores during the streak have been shared by Jonathan Boutin, Julien Ellis and Todd Ford. Boutin is 4-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.25 and a save percentage of .963 while Ellis is 4-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 1.25 and a save percentage of .951 and Ford s 7-0-0 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 1.57 and a save percentage of .946.
Wes Goldie leads the Salmon Kings during the winning streak with 19 goals and 23 points. Defenseman Dylan Yeo has a team-high plus-minus rating of +18 and 18 points (4g-14a) tying him for second-most points during the streak with Olivier Filion, whose 15 assists during the period are a team best. Goldie leads the league with 32 goals and is tied for fourth with 44 points while Yeo leads ECHL defensemen with 10 goals, 25 assists and 35 points and Filion is tied for fourth with 29 assists and tied for eighth with 37 points.
