Comments: Rypien nails Brett Clark along the boards with a big hit, prompting Laperriere to skate after Rypien and challenge him. Rypien turns around and the two drop the gloves, quickly grabbing ahold of one another. They start going toe-to-toe with punches right off the bat: Laperriere going with rights and Rypien the left. Rypien switches hands and lands three rights until Laperriere is able to tie him up. Rypien throws a few body shots and throws another left before he takes Laperriere down to the ice. The linesmen come in and break things up. Rypien skates back to the dressing room with a big cut on the bridge of his nose.
