Comments: Mayers nails Sergei Fedorov with a hard open-ice hit at center ice. Westcott immediately skates over and challenges Mayers and they drop the gloves and tie up. Westcott throws two short lefts and Mayers misses over the top with a right. Westcott throws another short right, allowing Mayers to throw a flurry of three rights that send Westcott to the ice and the linesmen rushing in. Westcott received an extra minor penalty for instigating with a visor on and a game misconduct for having his jersey not tied down. Other Penalties: Westcott received an instigator, unsportsmanlike conduct, misconduct and game misconduct.

Comments: Chimera gives Mayers a cross check from behind along the side boards, causing Mayers to retaliate and jab his stick into Chimera. Chimera takes exception and the two quickly drop the gloves. Chimera throws a body shot just before Mayers connects with a quick uppercut. Mayers throws a right to the back of Chimera's head and Chimera goes down to a knee. Chimera lands a short right and the two grapple for a short while. Mayers gets loose and then throws two rights before they fall to the ice.
