I can live with Rielly getting in a couple games but I really think they need to let him play out the season in the WHL. Keeping 18 year old dmen in the NHL is almost always bad for their development and the Leafs can't afford to f*ck up like they did with Schenn.

Those 3rd and 4th lines don't work for me. No way does Leo Komarov play on the 3rd line over Matt Frattin. Nope. Not a chance.
Also, I don't at all like the idea of not having Dave Steckel in the lineup. The guy is money in the faceoff dot. Having your 4th line start the play with the puck is huge, especially on the road. You don't want them getting caught out there on a line mis-match, and then having other team gain puck possession and run them around. With Steckel out there it gives them a chance to win the draw and then make a quick line change. It makes a big difference because you can use the 4th line more knowing you can get them off the ice in a hurry if you need to. I'd like to see, Kessel - Bozak - Lupul MacArthur - Grabo - Kulemin Frattin - Kadri - Van Riemsdyk Brown - Steckel - Orr McClement - Komarov I'm still not sure about Orr. I hope to hell he's there, but I think Komarov and McClement are going to see more action. Come on Randy. DON'T F*CK THIS UP.

I agree on Orr. Even with his improved skating he will still spend a lot of time in the press box. I'm guessing when they play against teams that don't have anybody for Orr to fight they will go with a bottom 6 along the lines of this: Kadri - McClement - Van Riemsdyk Brown - Steckel - Komarov |

Frattin and Connolly and Reily sent down for final cuts, nice. Orr makes it.

Fraser and Kostka stay up too, as the 7th and 8th d-men.
I can't wait to see Komarov play. Some are saying he's like a Russian Darcy Tucker? Randy Carlyle: "Players need to be comfortable. Orr brings protection."

I know he's played center in the past so a line of Brown/Komarov/Orr could be a fun possibility at some point this season. |

But wait a minute? What has Leo Komarov done with the big club to prove his worth? In fact, what has Komarov done with the Marlies to prove his worth? I watched Frattin score 8 goals with the Leafs last year while playing mostly on the 4th line. Then he got sent down to Marlies when the season was over and tore it up with 14 goals in 23 games. How's he done this year? 9 goals in 20 games. Only on pace for 40? Yeah he sure needs more work down there. How about Komarov? What's he been up to this year? He's got 2 goals playing in the KHL. Well stop the f*cking press and give him a spot on the big club because clearly he's earned it. Are you kidding me? Frattin is a 6'4" 225 pound goal scorer with speed. He spent time in the A and has been a hell of a player. He's spent time in the NHL and didn't look out of place, even though he was out of place because he spent a lot of time on the 4th line with no offensive potential/help. Playing with Kadri and Van Riemsdyk on the 3rd line gives him hella more opportunity to put up some numbers. He's shown that he's capable, so why not let him?

I hope I'm wrong, but I'll leave you with the name Jonas Frogren. Remember him? He was a "tank" over in Europe too. Was drawing plenty of comparisons to Dmitri Yushkevich. Then he landed on North American soil where people play the game a little differently. His physical style turned non-existent, and he was gone within a year.

He was playing on a line with Backstrom and Ovechkin, I highly doubt he was getting to shoot the puck much. |
