I like the makeup of our overall team toughness if they dress guys like Rinaldo,Sestito,Walker and Shelley in the games against Pitt and teams with more toughness. Mac and Engelland are not going to play EVERY game for Pittsburgh..they have too much depth for those 2 to take a regular roster spot.
if rinaldo lays out crosby ima feel sorry for the flyer fans who get to watch us tuck our heads in our asses

Would you have ever thought this team http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/l...000532004.html
aside from Brashear would be responsible for the record for penalty minutes in a game? Sure toughness is measured by reputation and name, but when push comes to shove, your toughness is really only measured when the mitts are off. Yes Mac and Engelland far outweigh anyone we have on our roster..and the potential is there for it to get really ugly, but David slayed Goliath once too.

from the MSH boards:

Should have posted in here the other day, but completely slipped my mind. I went to the scrimmage on Monday, and by the way, God it felt amazing to watch hockey in person again. Haha is it October yet?!

Some thoughts:

Brayden Schenn looked like a man amongst boys out there. The way he was playing, I don't think there's any way he's left off the opening night roster. 3 goals and an assist, granted in a prospect game, is damn good. Zac Rinaldo needs to be confined to a strait jacket. He was out there deliberately trying to injure his own teammates on multiple occasions, the worst offense being with about 20 seconds left in the game. He had lost his stick in the offensive zone, and skating back into the defensive zone, took a good five or six strides before laying into one of the defensemen from the blind side. He knew what he was doing, and that was trying to hurt him. You could hear the sound of the collision throughout the entire rink.

One of the other standout players was Mike Testwuide. Very strong on the puck, and two goals to show for it. Niko Hoivenen is a beast in the net. His head is above the crossbar when he's in the butterfly, that's how big he is. It's unbelievable. I can't wait to see him in North America after this upcoming season.

I know it's not your comment MH2k5...but:

I'm sorry...has the team already been picked? I musta missed that memo. Until you all wear the same jersey on the same night..you're not teammates. This just shows me a kid that will do WHATEVER it takes to make an impression. ANYTHING goes when you're fighting for the same spot as the guy next to you. He must have done something right...the GM likes him. Not the 1st time Zac has been called a nut job...he lives for it.

Don't like it?....take up knitting.

Wonder if Zac and Tommy have discussed this at all: (remember...Rinaldo gives up 6 inches and close to 40 lbs here)

‪12-31-10 Zac Rinaldo vs. Tom...

Hey guys, I recently picked up Zac Rinaldo for BloodNGuts fantasy league here. I'm just wondering how likely the chances are of Rinaldo making the team.

If you guys cut/don't want him, please trade him to Phoenix. We need another crazy Carcillo type of player if Phoenix really wants people to show up at the games.

With Shelley suspended and Sestito waived, I think he is pretty much a lock to at least start the season with the Flyers. Once Shelley returns, it may be a little tougher. I'd like to see him beat out Nodl for a roster spot.

Well he def showed he can play the game a bit this preseason. With the suspensions and Nodl injured he may make the team. I worried less about Nodl and more on the idea that the Flyers may carry Coutier. That would mean the possibility of Shelly being waived.

No one here said Rinaldo was going to come in the NHL and be the champ. We just like the guy because he hits hard and isn't afraid to drop the gloves. He won't win them all, but at least he will fight.

The NHL needs a lot more guys like Rinaldo in the league.

pretty sad when the addition of an average middleweight gets Flyers fans a boner.

pretty stupid. just like you. make ya feel like a [wo]man? what are you, 13 ?

Cote.....Carcillo...... Ronaldo McDonaldo......who's next in a line of imposters ?

these guys are a disgrace to the uniform that was worn by TRUE greats like:

Schultz
Bridgman
Brown
Tocchett
Brashear.......

guys like Randy Holt and Dave Richter were more deserving of the uniform than this clown who you verbally fellate constantly. and likely lioterally the way you fawn over this 'never will be'.

your boy is a run of the mill, gloryfied middleweight. he'll flutter between the A and the N for a couple years, then find a job in a Kwik-ee Mart with Apu.

you don't see any little man winking emote do ya ?
