Leighton should never have been playing last night. Yet another questionable decision by Laviolette. Why in your right mind would you play Bryz against Florida and then come back with Leighton against Tampa. It is common sense that if you are going to split the games you give the backup the weaker team.

The Phantoms would have been better against Tampa. Need to erase that memory and move on.

Hope G unfuks himself. Turning into a little Diva.

In fairness to the Flyers, the refs/Lightning totally took them off their game with that questionable unsportsmanlike penalty call on Simmonds.

Crombeen pussed out when challenged by Simmer so Simmonds went to do something to get his attention. Refs knew it and gave him a penalty and that's what zapped all energy and passion from the game on both sides. (Also, I watched that whole Crombeen shift with Giroux where he got the 3 minors. He earned at least 2/3 of them if not all three. There was no "gift" of a penalty given.

At the same time the Flyers cowarded once that penalty was assesed to Simmer. Even Simmonds was off his game. No hitting no nothing. Also, the Lightning buried their chances where as Read and Briere failed to do so with their chances. That ultimately was the difference.

Please. Sit. Fedetenko.

Also, Couterier needs to get a nasty part to his game. I'll take Schenn over him every day of the week because of the edge Brayden brings.

I like Couturier but he's like a cocker spaniel puppy out there.

Mid-game mini vent...Making our 5 on 3 more like a 4 on 3, I hate Jakub Voracek.

Edit: Again, a beauty of a give away by Voracek to help the Rags kill that penalty.

Edit 2: Another one. Trade Voracek.

Claude Giroux shouldn't be the captain right now. He gave the Rangers what should have been a goal with 5 minutes left and can't win a faceoff within 3 minutes being left in the period. Voracek looks like **** too, as does our third d-man pair. Coburn had a beauty of a giveaway in the late 3rd as well.

Voracek is terrible on the PP as a Point man. Turns things over.

I'm gonna start beating the drum. I want Laviolette fired and the Flyers to hire Jon Cooper. Head coach of the Syracuse Crunch. His team won the Calder Cup last year (they were Norfolk-affiliation change), they're at the top of the league this year, they are always at the top in fights, always exciting, and the guy's just a straight up winner. You want Flyers hockey, this guy is it. He has no problem with the stupid unsportsmanlike penalties like Simmonds one against Tampa, he wants his defensemen crashing in on a scrum in the offensive zone if it breaks out. His style/philosophy is imo the only way we'll ever compete with the teams in this conference as Lavy even when dressing a tougher lineup refuses to use it.

I have been hard on Rino this year, but He, Tito, and ugh, Fedetenko, drew a penalty and had multiple good shifts on the forecheck and sustained attack zone time, something the first 3 lines couldn't do much of. Yet, they never saw the ice in the third period. (well, sestito that is, Rusty and Rino had a shift with Talbot).

Giroux took another dive tonight and it's getting old fast.

Coby, Lilja coughing it up in our own zone...love it. (I don't mind Gervais, he's actually played pretty well.)

That 5 on 3 was terrible. Shoot. The. Puck. I know that the Rangers block shots well but you still can't over pass. Flyers PP is way to slow with puck movement and decision making.

Lastly, Bryzgalov should have either 1 loss or no losses this year. He's been the guy we wanted from the beginning so far this season. if not for him, woulda been blown out again tonight.

....Our D is fockin atrocious! Why is Lilja in the lineup? WHY!
Why did we pick up Foster? "Oh,this guy has a great shot, blahblah"
So great he's scratched more then he's in the lineup. Lavy must not
think his nose isn't far enough up his cornhole?? Coby, who is this dude?
He's invisible most nights, turns the puck over at will when pressured,
doesn't hit for 6'5" 200 something lbs, doesn't clear the fockin crease.

I could go on and on... Kimmo is a shadow of his former self and should
have his minutes reduced further. Sad thing is,he's probably the best
thing we have back there. Our top guys are Grossmann and Schenn
so far this season, they come to play, hit, clear the porch and play with
some snarl. Can't say nothing bad about those two so far,LOL.

The O,oh boy....Why did we sign Rusty? Why did we bring back Knuble?
Where the hell has Max been? Rinaldo is pissing me off real bad, start
McGinn instead. Start fockin Shelley instead of Rusty/Knuble,at least
he plays with intensity and add's an element to our club. G has looked
real mediocre, primarily because he's the number one target for teams
now that he doesn't have firepower help and a good set up man.
Man so many things to vent about,I have a migraine.

If there was ever a year to cash it in early and trade away some contracts this is it. Were not going to win anything with this hockey team so let's dump a few people asap and just go through the motions on purpose for the next 40 some games and get Jones at number 1. Answer our need back there for years to come and if we dump a few of these scrubs we can make a huge spalsh in July. Besides a few of our core young guys we need to blow this team up, we got old and soft by just a few signings. Homer went for it and as a result me missed out on the decent players this summer, I don't blame if for trying nor am I mad he did but just simply stating the obvious.

If were going to suck and make it difficult to watch then I hope we really suck and make it worth it in the end.

Bryz has looked great, to bad the team in front of him is terrible.

LA is looking for a left handed shot on the blue line, they need Coburn. Trade that sack and bring Richards back....lol

Lavy must go!

His system doesn't work anymore and the players know this and it shows in their performance on ice. The pp sucks a c*** a mile long and the D can play better. Come to think of it fire all of the coaches, they all suck.

Get some new blood in here, someone mentioned an AHL coach earlier let's get him, we need fresh ideas and a new attitude. Lavy sucks the life out of every rivalry game the Flyers played this season with his soft approach, it's beyond time for a change.

Tye McGinn should be starting over everyone below the first two lines.

We have enough quality forwards for two lines and enough quality d-men for two defensive pairings, beyond that... it sucks.

Also, I'm pretty sure Giroux is in some sort of turnover contest with the defensemen from the third pairing.

One of the thoughts that I am hoping is not going to come true is that we got career years out of Hartnell, Simmonds, Voracek, Coots, and Read last year and now, it's time to sell high (or it's too late to do so).

If we drop a few more, Lavy will be canned. Hockey is the one sport where firing a coach, no matter who they are, nearly always results in a better record with a different hand at the helm.

Watched CHI-MIN last night and it was a breath of fresh air to see both teams taking the puck into their offensive zone and start cycling. It's no surprise when you look at the standings and see those two teams right at the top.

Why the Flyers continue to dump and chase after all these years, regardless of who the head coach is at any given time, is beyond me.

Yikes...I thought the Flyers actually played fairly well tonight.

Bryz has been playing awesome. As usual the Flyers don't realize they're in an actual game until 3/4's of the way through the 1st pd. He made some great saves to keep them in it when the shots were 10-2 in favor of the Caps. Then the Flyers picked it up were all over Washington. Rinaldo got a solid W in a fight and seemed to keep up the Flyers momentum after the Erskine/Simmonds elbow. I missed the 2nd except for the last minute when the Flyers jammed themselves up in giving Washington a 5-3 to start the 3rd. I really don't know what went wrong tonight, as the D looked good to me, and Giroux played pretty well. Hopefully at 2-6 these guys realize they are putting themselves in an awful spot to make the playoffs and something clicks. Like I said, I think they played good tonight, but the play has to be consistent from the get-go.
