Simmonds/Schenn/McGinn was a great line. I agree with what you say about McGinn with the exception of keeping him over Rinaldo. If I had to choose between them at this point it would still be Rinaldo.

Rinaldo didn't like playing in the AHL so he wasn't playing like he usually does. I'll give him at least 10 games back in the NHL to see what he does before I write him off as a player who has officially 'changed' to Lavi style. He still gives the chance of a bone rattling hit every time he is on the ice.

As for the game tonight against the Devils, crap luck at the beginning and then the Devils play their frustrating, boring, trap-style 'shut down' hockey for the rest of the game. I like Hartnell, both Schenns, McGinn, Simmonds and Grossman playing with an edge looking for the hit every chance they get. That said, someone needs to make room for Sestito. He's not going to hurt anything at this point and you can always count on him for energy. Flyers seemed to really start buzzing after Simmonds punked Fatty B and the other Devils on the ice. We need more of it. Vorachek looked like garbage giving the puck up every other time he got it. Giroux needs to keep his emotions in check and not take those weak ass penalties if he's going to be counted on as a Captain.

We have too many of the same style players and with those
same style players it's the same trait,No balls,no tenacity,no will
to win the battles and a overall team toughness that resembles
their pussified coach. If you're going to lose and be a ****ty team
at least go down kicking ass and entertain your fans who you
neglected since the lockout began. Entertain me god dammit!!

I don't give a rats ass who is a great skater,who is a young
up and comer etc... This team is assembled with a puzzle full
of the wrong pieces and a coach who thinks he's smarter then
he really is. If you want to see how a "team" is assembled look
at the Bruins for example. Toughness/grit/tenacity/skill/sound in
their own end and a coach who knows how to roll out the right
players and not play guys who don't follow his team concept.

I know it early but unless something is done to infuse this team
with more of what I talked about they will dwell at the bottom
of the division and possibly even not make the playoffs.

You know I didn't even see that you posted this, but as I was watching the game tonight I was thinking the exact same thing. Guess you're just smarter than I am! But the Flyers have no veteren presence at all up front, and the defensemen who are veterens are as quite as can be and lack any sort of emotion and leadership ability. Upfront we have a massive overload of talented young kids who will, with time, contribute and be part of an awesome team...but minus Hartnell upfront, who isn't all that old himself, they have no one. Just a bunch of young kids who've never played all that long together, and when put in difficult situations have no clue how to act. Timonen is a good player, but certainly not the type of guy to take the team on his shoulders and go out there and lead. Coburn is another guy who fits this mold. They both sit back, and even if THEY are playing well and the team is not, they won't step up. This team has looked flat in all 3 games, though they have shown some bright spots. When you look at their roster though, they literally have nobody who has that veteren status. Last year it was Jagr, and for a brief time Pronger. I think the return of Briere is going to help that a little bit, but I'd like to see them get someone who plays with some balls, has some grit, and knows how to show the youngsters what it is about. I mean here are just a few guys from the not too distant memory that were good veteren players for a few seasons;

Sean O'Donnell
Ian Laperriere
Mike Knuble
Jason Smith
Derian Hatcher

I am sure there are a few more that I am missing, but if you look at any of those guys, the closest the Flyers have now is Kimo, and he is a far cry from even Mike Knuble.

I'd take him over Fedotenko, Wellwood, McGinn, Rinaldo, Read.

Lavi's soft style is finally being exposed. Love how noone defended G after little Gionta ran him over at the end of the second.

Schenn's have brought it every game physically, Simmer's a bad bad man, Hartsy does his thing, but after that its embarassing. Laughton gets taken out post whistle and Coburn skates and "bumps" Volchenkov...its 3-0, JUMP HIM.

Also, Talbot's getting messed up by Lavi imo. He's most effective as a Center.

We have seen Rinaldo play what, 2 games this season? Hop off his sac, give him some time. I know the second he lays someone out everyone's going to shut up about it.

I would send Laughton back. He's 18 and he is not a Star type player. In this shortened season I beleive it would be more beneficial for him to go back to Jr's.

It not like they don't have NHL talent ready to step in for him. Briere should be ready to return.

i dont think laughton has looked out of place, but i'd still send him back. especially w/ briere coming back.

giroux needs to stop w/ the whining on the ice. completely embarrassing to get an unsportsman like penalty for yelling at the refs. and didnt he do that while we were killing a penalty? he should be better than that.

vorecheck has been frustrating to watch. same with read.

Finally! We put together a solid effort. We played with tenacity
and grit, hit people and got into a couple scraps, coincidence?
I think not. This is Flyers hockey! Hopefully we can build some
momentum and confidence. No vent tonight. lmao.

Good solid win last night, now I'm even more pissed at Lavy. Had he played Shelley and Sestito from the first game the Flyers would be 3-1 and not 1-3.
He still doesn't get it.

That game wasnt Leightons fault. What is Girouxs problem? Absolutely love him but in these last games hes looking like a lazy russian out there. Hedmans last goal happened only because Giroux didnt backcheck at all. Sestito gets a total of 5 minutes on the ice? All around awful game.

um we played bad yes, but leighton was very amateur as usual. the vinny blast he wasnt on post. The hedman goal was a juicy rebound. dont get me started on the goal where a turtle pushed the puck through his 5 hole. HES AWFUL
