i have no problem with this, but i dont think it should just be for social services. i think anyone who gets handouts from the gov't, like CEO's of banks/corporations, should be drug tested as well.

Congrats Philly, you have finally caught up and surpassed last years Homicide rate.
http://phillypolice.com/about/crime-statistics At this current 2 week pace, Philly Thugs should catch and surpass 2007 rate. In which there were 391 homicides. **Just to give everyone an idea of how bad Philly is when it comes to murders. New York City - 69 Murders so far, Population Approx. 8.4 Million Philadelphia - 75 Murders so far, Population Approx. 1.5 Million Chicago - 97 Murders so far, Population Approx. 2.7 Million Put a fence around North and West Philly and call it a prison.

Xfinity Live!
I believe the Grand Opening is either today or tomorrow (I think it is tomorrow I am just too lazy to look)...anyway, I was on their website, and saw the complex back in January and I must say it looks absolutely awesome. I am going down for the Flyers/Sens game tomorrow and probably going to head over there after the game. I am assuming it is going to be packed, but from what the website shows, it looks like it could be a good time. Anyone else going?

I hit up Xfinity live after the Sixers game on Saturday night with the Bach party I was with. The place is happening. Besides the sports atmosphere there is just so much going on. Mulitple bars, mulitple TV's, multiple things to do. The PBR bar was jammed packed with the mechanical bull in full swing.
I think they def. got this place right and I will be down there for Flyers playoff games. Outside when the weather gets good is going to be amazing. Multiple places to hang out, fire pit, Lounge chairs, and a stage for concerts. They also have a mini-turf field where they will be doing game day from for Eagles games. They also have a VIP lounge full with bottle service. A+ experince for the first time I was there.

It's gonna be f*cking great for the playoffs. I try to go to a game or two each series but for the ones I don't go to and especially for away games this will be awesome.
I liked when they panned to the shots of the place going nuts after the goals yesterday too. I was a little skeptical at first because I'm an old school outdoors tailgate guy but this is gonna be cool. Not too Aramark-ish like I thought it might be. As a beer geek, the Victory Beer Garden is awesome. We should all try to catch a game together there, or at the very least, we should post a heads up on here if we know we'll be headed there for a given game. |

I forgot I even posted that, and I have to get going to work, but yeah the place is absolutely awesome...and will be amazing for playoff games. I'd like to get a playoff game, but I've spent some serious $ on tickets recently, so it may be out of the budget, however if I can't go to the games, or I am off on a day of an away game this place is going to be the place I go. Great atmosphere.

Tim, I don't know if you went, but did you notice/hear about the tables with the taps already built into the table and you pay by credit card. Awesome stuff!

Heard on the radio that some of the Flyers came over to Xfinity after the game including Hartnell who was doing the Hulk Hogan ear thing while people were going crazy.
This is a team the city can really ralley behind. Much more than in years past. I probably have not liked a team this much sicne the Roenick-Preems run in '04
