Suter was their homerun, Gervais is their sacrafice bunt.

Personally I'd be happy if they stood still and left the defense alone at this point. Save the money for when it really can be used, unless Homer has something up his sleeve and is trying to get a servicable guy back there cause he has another one leaving. At this point though if he isn't signing Carle then why not let Bourdon or one of the other young pups run with that 6th spot. Really it isn't going to hurt to try it out that way, worse case scenerio is you make a trade for a 6th guy or sign one of the guys who is left sitting in November.

God I really want to know what Walker did to piss them off so bad, tried finding out but nothing has come back this way saying anything other then they hate him.

word is bourdon is still struggling with his concussion thats why they lookin at gervais. He wont command much at all and we will be able to save our money for bigger things

We missed the boat on signing a decent tough D man(Carkner/Allen).
Gervais is buddies with Max Talbot so this wouldn't shock me.
He'd fit in nicely with our crop of skating vag's on D.
Anyone take a shot signing Jay Rosehill? (He played D before Wing.)
Rosie could be a 6/7 D man or play the fourth line wing spot.
He's good friends with Luke Schenn and great team guy. Pipedream?

be patient bro lol next yrs free agency are full of some tough players. I like carkner but personally hes not a good enough skater to play in our system and thats the truth. i wouldnt mind seeing brandon manning up tho. He plays tough

We missed the boat because Homer threw everything he had on the table putting offer sheets out for Suter and Parise. That left him over a barrel and unable to throw offers anywhere else until he either retracted an offer or Suter and Parise made a decision. Homer showed his hand too early and it's becoming tiresome. Next year he'll do the same to try and land Weber...and likely lose out again.

Not the toughest guy in the league but twice as tough as Carle, also a right hand shot which the Flyers need, had more goals than Carle last season, didn't break the bank, not a bad signing. You can never have enough solid NHL d-men in your organization.

I dont need every guy on the team to be tough, but at least your defensman shouldn't affraid to lay the wood. Homer screwed the pooch this offseason.. If that is overreacting, you got me pegged buddy. Gus, Syvret, Timonen, Gervais.. Cant have that many Finesse D men..When Luke Shenn is your toughest D Man, well, thats not tough enough IMO. I agree Manning, Bourdon or Lauridson should be given first shot.

I guess one positive way of looking at is, at the very least he has to be better in that 6th spot then Lilja.

Another would be the fact we have 4 or 5 guys who can fill that 6th spot if any injuries occur.

Yes you so understand me perfecly. I want a Big tough DMan that can fight... Like a Stu Bickel Type, or a Matt Carkner.. I hate that we take a Physical beating at the hands of the Rags and Bruins...... But Great, we landed Gervais and Fedetenko ALL IS WELL

i cant even be mad at you cuz i was once like you lol i wanted to sign every tough player available, and your not the only one. Its a pipe dream but most of us on here have wanted chris neil for a while. Next offseason we could make that happen. Every yr we cant always have the lineup we want. I miss asham just as much as the next guy as well so i def understand where you are coming from but you need role players as well bud

carkner probably isnt good enough to play in lavi's system. i hope they dont spend a ton on dmen this offseason and break the bank on weber next summer.

i read the flyers could still be looking to add someone to fight for the 6th spot.
