Big weekend for the Bryz; strong play against two very good teams and in matinees to boot.

Bryz gave them a chance to win today vs. the Pens. The team came out in the third and got two goals. Heck, in the third Bryz even had to bail them out. (I'm looking at you Matt Read...blind pass in your own zone late in the game? What are you thinking?) Dude's doin what he's being paid to do and still being himself for the most part. I like it.

2011/12 - 2.48 GAA and .909 SVPCT
2013 - 2.59 GAA and .906 SVPCT

Stats aren't as good this year, yet we're all praising him, what's the difference? To me, it is night and day with his play this year so far compared to last. He hasn't had a bad game yet. Yeah he's had a few ones he'd like to have back, but for the most part he's been everything we've wanted. Is it just the team infront of him that hasn't played as well so far? I was just interested in his stats and noticed they were a bit better last year, and yet he was mediocre at best last season.

his play has been much, much better. however, he's gotta stop bitching after goals, it looks like he's throwing his team under the bus when he does that

I saw the couple from last night, but they looked to me like he was pissed at himself. Esp. after the wrap around.

And on a couple of them he should throw his team under the bus.

yeah, the wrap around looked like he was mad at himself, but you should never throw your teammates under the bus on the ice.

I disagree, them mother fuckers in front of him need to be held acountable also when they fuck up. If he lets a bad one in the whole rink lets him know so I'm fine I would be fine if he stepped out of his crease and two handed one of his own guys if they fuck up and leave him hanging as a result of their shitty play.

of course the rest of the team needs to be held accountable, but not on the ice in front of everyone. should the dmen start yelling at bryz when he lets a soft one in? no.

I'm convinced the Flyers will never have a goaltender that doesn't give up at least 1 weak goal early in a game. Bryz has arguably the worst high blocker in the game right now.

Oh well...he's battling and keeping us in games long enough for his D to fuck up..or him to let in a squeaker..LOL. Painful to watch at times.

I'm happy with Bryz so far this season....just wish he had a better blocker.

i wonder if its getting in his head a little bit. Defense is having monumental collapses in front of him in most games. His play so far has been fine to me. Had a couple rough games but hes needed rest. I really wouldnt mind if we got rid of lavy and got something who instilled a defensive minded system.

He's stood on his head for this team several times this year. He's let in some softies, but who hasn't. He's been more than impressive thus far. If he keeps his play up he's everything they need.

Well said, couldn't have said it any better myself. He got tired there but the day off re-energized him.

Btw, I think bc of how great he is/was, people seem to miss or not realize Brodeur has been prone to weak/soft goals his whole career. I remember many Flyers wins over New Jersey where they won bc of some softies given up by Brodeur. (or soft goals kept them in games vs. Jersey) The key is, and this is what Bryz has done this year like Brodeur, you rebound from them and stand on your head and come up huge the rest of the game. That's what Bryz is doing differently this year.
