Schenn looks like the D-Man. What do we add now?

I hope they don't use this cap space to sign Jagr. I'd sooner they pay a little more and try chase Doan if they are going to get a 35+ guy.

I'd suspect they chase another D-man or try and re-sign Carle for below market value.

Going to need a little of it to bring in a backup golaie also.

With Pronger on LTIR we've got more than 11 mil "wiggle room". I like the Schenn acquisition...and we're not done yet.

I like bringing in Luke. We still need a backup goalie plus we got to at least resign Bourdon, Voracek and Sestito. We still need 1 more dman and a forward.

How big of a raise is P-A P looking for? What's Mathers' progress looking like?

carle will be re-signed i can promise you that. Now they just need to sign voracek and get a back up goalie. Offensively we are fine but i wouldnt mind having prust for his faceoff and penalty killing. Btw once pronger goes on ltir he will give us 6mil more in cap space i believe

With the Wideman trade I think Carle's gone. Flyers won't over pay for a turnstyle on defense who's offensive numbers are mediocre. I see role players being what's added. Matt Carkner's a pipe dream. Neil would be a cool fit. Him and Simmer on the same team? Offense and toughness.

yea homer and carle said they was gonna work it out, but every since wideman got more money then he deserves carle will go to FA and will try and get more. He can GTFO as far as im concerned. Bryan allen would do, im still a fan of mandog and bourdon as well

So what's everyone's opinion right now on the team? No big signings, lost Jagr and Carle and traded Bobrovsky, gained a few guys with one of them being former Flyer Ruslan Fedotenko and we know that Leighton will back up Bryz. Personally, I feel they're in about the same situation as they were last year, possibly even a bit better. I think the D-core still needs some improvement, but Grossman was really an addition last year and hopefully if the guys stay healthy they can really play well. Losing Carle doesn't really bother me. The offense will be just as explosive as it was last year, easily the Flyers will be one of the better offensive teams in the league again. Losing Jagr won't be much of a hit. I'll be honest though, I enjoyed watching him play, but his presence on the ice disappeared once April rolled around. I know we'd all love to see Weber in orange & black, but I really don't know if a blockbuster trade for him is really in the teams best interest. They can go at him in July of 2013, but I don't think sending any one of the young gun fowards to Nashville right now is the best thing. The goaltending problem persists once again, but we're all used to it by now. I have high hopes for Bryzgalov this upcoming season. He played extremely well last year, and also extremely terrible. Hopefully he can get past that, which I think he can. I like Mike Leighton, but I am sure others are a bit worried about him as a back-up. I think he is an improvement over Bobrovsky, but I've been wrong a billion times on our goalies. So, basically, whats everyone elses standpoint right now? That was just a bunch of my thoughts put together...

I'm ok with no "big" FA signings but would have liked some more grit
and toughness added to our blueline. I can live with Shelley/Sestito etc..
for now if thats what we have for toughness this coming year although
I wanted a upgrade and it wouldn't have hurt to add some more firepower.
Losing Jagr doesn't bother me,Fed's will fill in that role ok with the younger
guys stepping up after some experience.

Love that Carle walked and we traded the other softie JVR for Luke.
Not too worried about losing BOB,Leights should be alright in the backup.
I would be pumped if we can land Doan and even more pumped if Ryan
ended up here. As long as the price isn't too steep(Voracek/Read/D man).
Hopefully Homer still has some tricks up his sleeve without gutting our
core of young kids. I give them a C. Not too impressed, wait and see.....

Nothing flashy this offseason and I am okay with that. We have a young roster that needs to develop, no need to blow it up.

I'm fine with the bargain hunting. Leighton as back up is better then over paying for a backup like Mason or Biron. Gervais is there simply to have a veteran blueliner in the ranks if someone gets injured. Fedotenko has consistently been a thorn in the Flyers side. The guy seems clutch in the playoffs and can lead by experience in the locker room.

Losing Matt Carle is much better then being stuck with him for six years at his cap hit.

Next moves: Re-sign Voracek and Sestito. Make offers to Doan and Evander Kane. Could the Flyers sign Semin? And remember it doesn't hurt heading to the trade deadline with a stockpile of cap space.

i'm happy with what they've done. id actually be pissesd if we signed suter or parise b/c those contracts were crazy. however, i hope they offer the same, if not more for weber next summer.

i'm good w the additions so far. maybe homer is trying to stay a decent amount under the cap incase of a trade during the season? (jagr?)

Do me a favor, don't ever type the name Semin and Flyers in the same sentence.
