2013 Ottawa Senators thread!

I'm not sure if there's any Sens fans still posting on here!

I was at the home opener tonight! What a game! Here's hoping that the Sens are on to bigger and better things this season.

I think the Sens should do well this year. Obviously, the Panthers didn't show up, but Ottawa played well last night and really took control of the flow and opportunities throughout the game. The score should have been higher than 4-0, but Theodore was about the only Panther that came to play.

I'm hoping Craig Anderson keeps playing well, though. He's always been one of my favorite goaltenders and he didn't look too shabby last night!

The Spezza injury is a huge setback, obviously. But Zibanejad has been playing well, and Anderson is tremendous. None of these is a long term solution, but I'm hoping that this team can keep up its amazing momentum.

I think the predictable has been happening and we've struggled scoring with Spezza out. The positives have got to be that in general we are allowing very few goals. Great goaltending and good D as a unit, just need some scoring from somewhere.

WE just don't look to have a lot of depth scoring wise on the team. Michalek has done pretty much zero in relation to salary this year.

Welp. So much for that.

First round draft pick, anyone?

Fear not Antonio my friend, 5 wins on the bounce. We're gonna win the cup.

Jokes aside, although we've no chance with the guns we have out at the moment, really encouraging stuff from the kids, and NM's, showing tons of resilience.

And we beat the Leafs with a goal in the last minute. SO SO pleasing.

BIG disappointment is FM's, we've got tons of grit, but no one is dropping the gloves.

They're playing hard, but I would love to see a fighter. Neil simply ISN'T effective when he's the lone Sheriff. His stats prove it. Smith is a ****ty fighter, and Methot doesn't really drop the gloves. I'd love to see them get another pugilist in the roster, but apparently that's falling on deaf ears!

I would like to have seen some sort of response on Harry Z's hit. I did like Alfie at least showing his displeasure with it, even it if it was a bit cheap. It's not like he's going to drop the gloves though is it, I mean come on it's Alfie.

I must admit Neil on his own, not convincing. MacLean seems pretty happy with the team competing at the minute, so I wouldn't expect to see any changes.

Yeah, glad Murray is reading this thread. I want free season tickets, now.

Sens were supposed to be a lottery team, but managed to take a game in the 2nd round. Hope Alfie comes back next year. Thanks to the Sens for a great season!
