Lets look on the bright side. Winning the Presidents trophy is like the kiss of death. Only 7 teams that have won it have gone on to win the Stanley Cup. Only 1 in the last 9 years. Strangely enough the 94 Rangers are one the few that have done it. I'd like to know what the stat is for the runner up. I got a feeling it may be worse. In that case we are screwed.

Having said that. I am really pissed about the way they played last night. The game was over in the first 30 seconds of the game. You could feel the air let out of the Garden after the 1st goal. I dont like the way this team responded at all. You know when the Flyers get imbarrased somebody will pay. You're not going to get off that easy. I hate Philly but I'll give them that much. You dont get off having to drop the mitts with them. You have to fight your way back to the locker room with your two points.

I really dont understand how a team this good can be that bad on the PP. It's like they have no clue what to do. I can see passes that should be made that they never even attempt. Granted I'm watching from above but still, these guys are pros. WTF?

I hope Rupp is gone next year. He is useless. I'm tired of seeing his face on the bench. He doesnt really impress with any of his fights this year. After all the talking he takes a loss to Shelly. He is slow, I can go on and on. There has to be somebody in the minors thats better than him that we could use in the playoffs. I dont want to start the Avery thing again but I would much rather see him on the ice over Rupp. Ok I'm done venting. I need a cup of coffee.

Sorry Lucy but Rupp seems to be a Torts fav on and off the ice. So it looks like he will be around a while.

As for the Rangers as a team, they have SUCKED recently. Im not liking the fact that we got the Sens. I would rather had the Sabres make the playoffs and play them. Im glad we dont have the Caps either.

This team ESPECIALLY Henrik needs to step there games up. They frigging looked like dog poop last night. Henrik looked like Biron. If they think they are gonna just skate in the playoffs in 1st place then they have another thing coming, espcially with the Sens who seem to have our number.

With that said, if Henrik gets his head outa his arse and the offense can HIT THE NET this team as we all know has the potential to take home the Cup!! Lets hope the first half season Rangers show up Thursday!!

This is what I always fear about Lundqvist and what he has done in the past...the difference is this year no one can blame the Olympics. Hopefully, he mentally said "We've clinched these games don't matter" so was not fully on his game and its not that hes fatigued. As for the rest of the team, let's hope they decided to dial it back to about 80% to get ready for the playoff push.

They can beat anyone, but they must play disciplined and play their defensive and physical game...especially when playing at Ottawa because the refs will certainly be in favor of the Canadian team considering there are only 2 in the playoffs.

Well Kreider has signed and signs seem to point to him suiting up for the playoffs...what do you guys think? Too soon or go for it? I would think he would replace a guy like John Mitchell. Mitchell hasn't been terrible, but this kid could bring more. Let's remember a young Ryan Callahan didn't have much experience before playing in the playoffs. And other teams have done this in the past, just off the top of my head I remember Drew Miller playing in the finals for Anaheim with no experience(I remember because there was discussion on the board about a guy like him with no experience playing and them sitting Parros in the finals).

I figure it can't hurt for him to get exposure in the playoffs and just one playoff game will give him for more experience than any amount of preseason games.

Well if your gonna do it, Ottawa would be the team to do it against. Not very physical so you would think that no one would be gunning for him physically, unlike a team like the Flyers or Bruins where it would be quite physical.

Yeah, to me Mitchell isn't a guy that I hate but he's non-existent out there, it's like you forget hes even in the lineup. That can be a good thing and a bad thing, hes not putting up points or making a major impact, otherwise you would hear his name...on the other hand, he's not making bad plays, blowing defensive responsibilities, etc, so you don't hear his name for that, which is kind of a good thing. Either way, it seems logical to throw the kid into the fire in the playoffs, keep his shifts short and who knows, he could show a little something. Or he can just gain a little experience. Worst case scenario is he looks lost or gets pushed around and you just put Mitchell back into the lineup...no harm done.

The Pens and Vancouver both lost last night. Hope this isnt a trend. I'm going to be pissed if we're down 1-0 to the Sens.

Wonder if the they'll stick the kid in right off the get. May work out. He does have three championships under his belt. Not NHL level but it's got to be worth something.

PS... I really hate Crosby and the Pens. Ridiculous how the refs bought all the dives they took. So nice to see them lose last night even if it was against the Flyers which I hate with a passion. I actually rooted for the Flyers in OT.

John Giannone is an idiot. What was his point in bringing up fighting when you didn't even mention it? They certainly have better fighters, but not a more physical team.

I'm happy with last nights game. Not thrilled about the 2 they gave up but that usually tends to happen when you have a big lead. I'd like to see somebody take care of Neil. He was getting a bit to cocky in our house. Love Callys play. The rest of the team has to step up and start hitting like him.

Im with you Lucy. Someone needs to take out Neil and step up a little more physically. But that last goal Hank let in was a misplay, he shouldve slid across the crease instead of flopping on his back and trying to make a crazy save kicking his legs all over the place. If he just slid across like a goalie is taught to do on his knees, he makes that save because the shooter flubbed the shot anyway.

Other than that, I thought the Rangers looked great and if they play like that, the Sens dont really stand a chance.

For Pitts to blow two 3 goal leads espcially after leading in by 3 in the first is crazy.

Philly is a scary looking team right now. But I think its bc the Pens cant match up physically. The Rangers however have proved that anything the Flyers can dish out the Rangers can take and pound back even harder. Hence the 6-0 against them this year!!

But first things first, the Rangers need to pound on the Sens tonight and go up 2-0 before going into Canada next week.
