The fact is, the Avery of 3+ years ago would make his presence known on his first shift. If he only played 45 seconds we would have known. And don't use the excuse that "he tried" or that he invited someone to fight, how many times in his career has he been challenged and not dropped the gloves? That's the respect issue and no one, without reason, is going to give him the satisfaction of fighting him to make his mark. He has to earn it and so far he has been invisible.

And don't call me an Avery hater...I was the first one losing my mind when they didn't re-sign him and I was the first one to sing the praises when they brought him back. The fact is he is not doing his job, his heart isn't in it, he's a cancer in the locker room, and a distraction to an already disorganized team.
You're an Avery hater! Admit it!

I wish that was the case, then I wouldn't be so bothered by the people that don't get it, but I'm just realistic with the guy. I don't like him as a person and if he never played for the Rangers he would be right up there with Matt Cooke as most hated current player for me...I just hate Avery now and the fact that while so many confused people believe that he brings a spark to the team...hes about as useful, if not less, than Christensen and Wolski...at the moment. If things change I will be back on the Avery bandwagon, but until then, I will make my opinions known...

I remember a time I was called a Gomez hater, which I was and still am, but I was proven right until he was traded and he still continues to prove me right.

That's just it, Sather wanted to sell that he had talent, but all he was and is, is an average player with speed...not even worth 3 million, forget the 7+ they paid him.

Avery has the tendancy to go overboard sometimes with his antics. However now I believe the reason he is invisible is because he is handcuffed. Imagine you playing for a team where you didnt make the squad then your called up and you know dam well that the coach hates you and your under a very fine microscope and any wrong thing you do you know the coach is gonna bench you or send you back down!!! How would you play the game, especially when your getting 4 min of ice time out of 60.

Yes you can blame Avery for not being the same old Avery but until you step into that locker room or his shoes and you know whats really going on then you cant knock the guy and say his heart is gone. If anything I would say that Torts holds his heart under a guillotine just waiting the drop the blade and get rid of him at anytime.

Failed to have been mentioned recently, Gaborik has finally been playing like the best player on the team. Richards is still getting used to the system a bit, and I think he'll wind up doing pretty well. If he was centering Gaborik's line instead of Anisimov he'd be getting many more points. Right now, line 1 of Stepan-AA-Gaborik is getting the job done. The Rangers are the hottest team in the league. Not going to forget to mention, they lead in the fight department!

NYR2, feel free to skip over this post...

I dont know about you guys, but I fukcing flew off my couch last night when Avery was coming in on that play where he scored, I was yelling "C'mon Avery, C'mon Avery" and when he scored jumped up and down. I finally think his heart is in the right place now with the team. After listening to him in the post game interview (which it sounded like he was on a ton a xanax), I think he has finally adopted the team first mentality. Torts mustve liked what he saw out of him yesterday, he gave him 10 minutes of ice time. If he can put all the BS aside, drop the gloves when necessary, and put the team first he'll have a great chance of staying up with the team.

Some of my other favorite moments from last night...

The Richards pass on Girardi's goal was amazing. No look, perfect puck placement for Girardi to rip a shot. What a fukcing pass...

Felt great as a fan to see Dubi get his first, I could only imagine what it felt like for him.

LETS GO RANGERS!!!

You are going to have to explain it to Henry also because he obviously doesn't get it. He was pining for Avery before he was called up saying "he brings a lot to the table", amongst other things. I guess that bothers you because he doesn't get it.

Now I know why I stay out of this forum. Six game winning streak but someone always finds the time to complain about something. Same thing with the peckerheads at the Garden that go to complain and watch dancing Larry. I expect them to battle for first in the division, if not the conference. This is as gritty a team as they have had for a decade and I find it hard to complain about much, though Torts knows how to get me riled up every so often. Sather had an auwful start but has put together a good, young team.

I jumped off my couch too and when he roofed that puck I was doing the Avery goal celebration pumping my fists with one foot on the ice (my case the floor) but that was an awesome goal. Perfectly placed. Lets also not forget Dubs grabbing a goal, he hasnt had the best start in the scoring category but its good to see him get on the board too.

Great game and great streak. Lets pound those pesky Islanders Tues, they always seem to give us a run for our money.

Why would I skip over this post? You have said nothing here that I find to be insane. I have no problem with anyone being an Avery fan, but people need to live in reality too. He still hasn't played "his" game, but he also seemingly hasn't been a distraction. The sign of a good player is adapting to his surroundings. I do blame Torts(and Sather) for this, but if he needs to not be a jester to keep his spot and earn more ice time, than that's what he needs to do. He has a goal and a fight since his return...I don't expect many fights, but if he throws the body and contributes a few goals than he will be an asset to the team. The reality is, it won't take much to look better than Christensen or Wolski, but he has it in him...he just needs to execute.

Henrik is Avery's friend...of course he is going to say nice things about him. That means nothing. Dubinsky also welcomed him back to the team on his twitter, yet when he went to Dallas they traded words in the papers.

The reason you stay out of the forums is because you have lost your mind. Yes this team should be contending if they can truly get their act together, but if you honestly think that they should be battling for the top spot in the conference, you are completely out to lunch. There is still a lot of work to do with this team before we can start discussing the Stanley Cup(and if you think they are the top in the conference that means you think they are a front runner for the Cup).

This winning streak is great and they have showed us some good things and we are watching Ryan McDonagh turn into something very special, but it's also only November 13th...the next 10 games could tell us a lot about the character, skill, and future of this team. They are about to play some very tough teams including the Caps, Flyers, Leafs, Pens, Tampa x2, and a super hot Florida team.

We can all have our favorite players and guys we hate...but the reality is no matter how much you love Avery, or I hate Girardi, or someone doesn't like Richards, etc., if they win, that's all that really matters. I loved Mike Gartner and hated the trade for Glen Anderson, but if that meant winning the Cup, than godspeed Mr. Gartner.

Here's just a little fun fact...18 year old Ryan Nugent-Hopkins would be leading the team in points by 5 and tied for second in goals if he played for the Rangers.

Just figured I'd throw that out there, it's been quiet.
