Aaron Volpatti vs Anthony Peluso

Fight is initiated off the face-off as both guys are talking and jostling a bit. Eventually a challenge is issued and both guys drop the gloves and have a nice fair square off... They skate away from the play and circle each other, Volpatti misses with a grab attempt then they circle some more. Eventually they grab on to each other and start, jockeying for position. Volpatti throws a right that is locked out and Peluso counters with an overhand right that lands but Volpatti lands a fantastic left that scores flush and snaps Peluso's head back, but misses with two follow up piston lefts. Peluso gets set up and throws two very hard rights to the body. Then comes with an overhand right and a big right uppercut that lands and knocks off Volpatti's helmet, then both guys land big rights simultaneously. Peluso then scores with a right to the back of Volpatti's head, and as they spin a bit Peluso gets his right hand going and lands three big rights that land hard and puts Volpatti into a bad spot and has Volpatti covering up. Linesmen come in and Peluso holds up. Good fight, win Peluso. Volpatti was marked up after the fight.

Peluso won't return to the game oddly enough.

Peluso is out of the game with an "upper body injury" as the announcers are speculating he may have a broken hand.

Peluso looked good there, he picked up the clear win....

On a side note it was good to see him hold up after Volpatti went to a knee!

Win Peluso

Did his jersey rip or is it just extremely loose around the collar?

Cap fans...Volpatti is normally a much better fighter than that. That was an abysmal showing by him, I think primarily caused by a horrible grab with his tie up hand.
He's no world beater, but way better than what he showed there.

Related to Mike Peluso?

Peluso with a easy win. Too bad about the hand

Dave_42 03-02-2013 04:26 PM

Hahah... announcer just said "A good pass by Tangradi just started this sh!t off... shift off"

Good fight. They said Volpatti got stitches in the back of his head as well.

Well after watching Bradley and Hendricks getting beat up for the past few years I have my bar set pretty low.

Hope Peluso is ok. He is going to do some damage in this league and he is far from a goon. Another easy win.

I didn't think Volpatti had a bad showing at all... Peluso was probably the AHL champ and is a much better fighter overall. I see Volapatti as a good second tier guy but Peluso is an easy top 5 guy in the league if he can stay in the lineup. Volpatti got a couple of shots in, but he's overmatched against Peluso.

Volpatti was over matched against a legit HW in Peluso. Volpatti is more in the class of a Thorburn, but it least he showed up. Hopefully Peluso is not out too long.

It's a pretty weak top 5 right now BO.
