Good fight and a nice little show of respect right at the end.

i dont know when this way of thinking started with the giving the rookie a shot.in the past 10 year veterans fought in pre season against guys tryingto make the team.it was not like it seems today that a up and coming tough guy has to ask the veteran tough k you for fighting me.dont people realize that these veterans who "have nothing to prove by fighting a rookie"where in that guys shoes once??and lets be serious iffin it was not for fighting ,brashear, orr and parker would have never saw 1 nhl game.so do what got you there and ewhat your paid for.

edge brashear but wow leblond did a great job not sure if he can handle a full HW fighting job at the moment but in a few years looks like he might be a contender

I also liked the big haymaker that Brash lands and then Leblond gives him the same punch back, and lands it.

When was the last time Brash was in a good exchange like that? Orr last season? Or Laraque?
Probably when McGrattan beat him in '06.

Edge Brashear in this one, good fight. I like this Leblond kid. Hopefully he can stick.

It has become more and more of a trend but mostly in the pre-season. A 15 year veteran does not owe a rookie a whole lot in the pre-season game and there are millions of reasons why.$$$$$$$$ The rookie has to go out and earn it by building up there reputation. The way to do that is by fighting other up and comers.

Eh.

I wont give the champ the win, Ill give him the edge. ANYONE who can keep up with the champ like that is worth keeping. NJ would just be stupid to send down someone who gave the champ a run like that.
I didn't realize Laraque played for one of these two teams?

Edge Brashear, but that kid sure is makin' a name for himself.

Yes he did, although I think I only saw 2 of there fights. Leblond had some big time fights with Wingfield as well but he was no where near the fighter he is now.

As for the Brashear vs Leblond gotta give it edge Brashear even though at the end he was throwing nothing punches. Leblond really caught him twice though the one was a beauty knocking his helmet off. Leblond needs to be up full time with the Devils, get Rupp's ass outta there Brashear throwing like he was with Leblond would have killed Rupp.

Was at the game for this one. It was at the other end so didn't have the greatest view but still could see it decently. Brashear was basically forced into this fight.

Leblond was talking to him earlier in the game and Brashear clearly wasn't gonna give him the chance. Later in the game Brashear got knocked on his ass by Jay Leach and when the whistle blew, Brashear was clearly angry and having a long convo with the ref.

The shift prior to the fight there was a scrum that Brashear was involved and he was clearly angered that he wasn't getting any respect.

Leblond clearly wanted this fight and did well. Brashear by no means was takin it easy on him. Brashear was fighting with passion and was trying to make an example of Leblond.

I really hope he makes the team. His fighting skills are far superior to Mike Rupp's, he is just about as good a player, makes less money, and is a young 23-year old. I have a good feeling about it so far through this preseason.

Solid bout and have to give credit to this kid Leblond. Gave the win to Brashear but Leblond looked better than almost everyone I've seen against Brashear in a long time.

Great showing by PLLL there, he really gave Brash more than he thought he was gonna get. Brash gets the edge here, but it wasn't the showing that you nor Brash would expect. Grant it PLLL makes the team, I expect Brash to want another bout where he puts PLLL down hard and early, Brash has got an ego to uphold, so I'll expect that he'll want one more fight with him.

If sutter is looking for an enforcer, and doesn't give rupp the boot then I'd be shocked. Replace Rupp with PLLL, and your enforcer role is finally filled.

Real good fight, I'd go with an edge for Brash. Leblond did a great job of hanging in there with him though. And kudos to Brashear for giving Leblond a chance to show what he can do in trying to earn a roster spot.

Sugden may not have much of a chance to make the Isles squad, but imagine the Atlantic division battles if Godard, Orr, Cote, Leblond and Sugden all got regular playing time...
