Vote: Matt Hendricks vs Rene Bourque Jan 18, 2012
Matt Hendricks vs Rene Bourque Bourque knew he had to face Hendricks before jumping on the ice. Hendricks was waiting for him. We're not even 2 minutes into the game. Bourque throws a lot, and most seem to miss, then he takes the takedown. It's a really spirited bout. I didn't see a lot of Hendricks there. Win Bourque on the first view. I don't think I'll change my stance. Bourque simply got the best of that one. Last edited by VodkaFish; 01-18-2012 at 08:31 PM. Reason: vid/link |

Rene Bourque vs Matt Hendricks
Revenge attempt for Bourques dirty elbow that put out Backstrom when Bourque was a Flame. Hendricks has the gloves off at center waiting for Bourque and Bourque drops his at the blueline and they meet at center ice. Should be noted Bourque left his visor on. Anyway they come together and get in tight and throw a couple of rights apiece. Than Bourque gets some separation and starts throwing some rights, 4-5 really solid shots that look to land. Hendricks tries a couple ineffective rights, and Bourque lands 2-3 more decent rights and the fight is done and the zebras come in to break it up. Bourque looked really good here, handled himself very well. Wish he would have lost the visor. Clear win Bourque. Maybe more to come?

I mentioned this in the PF thread but ill say it again, Bourque is plenty bigger than Hendricks and size wise wouldve matched up better with Erskine. I wouldve rather seen Erskine grab ahold of him.
I like Hendricks cause he has heart and fights, but when your gonna send a message, you need to send a message. Sending out Hendricks is like trying to stop a semi truck with a speed bump. Just not the message that says "this isnt gonna happen again against our team" But hey thats just my opinion. |

Correct! Just saw the replay on RDS.ca, it looks like Bourque offers Hendricks to take helmets off and Hendricks goes at it at this moment.

I turned this game on and this fight happened ten seconds later.

you can turn it down, there's nothing to see after that. Bourque was challenged, he accepted to trade punches, now I'd be surprised if Erskine tries to pound him.

One thing with Erskine is he picks his spots. Hes been in Hunters doghouse for reasons nobody knows and hes been a scratch five games straight. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt and hope hes just tryin to get his game legs goin again. Im sure he'll give Bourque a good run or two by the end of the night.
