Props to Byron Bitz for getting his 1st NHL fight out of the way. He didn't pick a slouch to go with, thats for sure. Edge Brash.

I was very surprised to see Bitz take on Brashear for a few reasons:
1. 3rd period of a tie game 2. Bitz has never fought at the NHL level 3. Brashear is a bad,bad man I thought Bitz did well though. He did a good job grappling for position and even landed a few punches. Brashear did overpower him at the end of the fight though and landed some lefts to Bitz's head. Win to Brashear in a close fight. |

Hunwick's still up. They like him too much to send him down. With Ference back, he played wing on the 4th line last night.

brashear doesnt have any "goodness"...he holds on for 2 min..hugs you to death....and while the other guy is actuallt triying to fight...then he noogies people in the back on the helmet....then when other guy gets free wrestle him down..i saw Bitz trying to throw punches while huggy bear just held on as usual..he is worst "goodness" fighter in the league..

Honestly I think Brashear held off on purpose....I htink he was surprised Bitz took the invite, then when he saw Bitz was not going to open up he just held on then got the win at the end...Brashear fought very calmly, knowing he was in no danger whatsoever....didn't want to show him up too bad IMO.

I guess if you want to give points for shots to the back of the mellon, then Brashear takes this scrap. Not a very good fight though, but Bitz looked huge compared to Brash - I'm surprised he's "only" 6'4 220 lbs. Give the kid credit for dropping them with one of the best though.
But man - what a beauty goal by Thornton - highlite of the night right there...

Good for giving the new guy a shot, but f*cking punish him. Make him NOT want to fight you again. Brash better sucker punch someone next game.
