Janssen is more in Rypien's class, not Boogaard... And I thought Rypien was scratched in the Philly/Vancouver game.

I don't think so, but I believe Hordichuk was.

Lets not forget that Rypien had just come back from three games missed with a hand injury when they played the Flyers, that and with the Canucks winning but still a fairly close game he had no reason to fight Asham. I'm willing to bet if Asham or Carcillo actually played with any emotion and tried getting their team going by running guys Rypien would have been there to take care of buisiness but they didn't.

Good fight, not a great one though, as there were a lot of missed shots. Definite win for Rypien.

Hordi must be injured, why else would he turn down Janssen??

And why is Janssen suddenly a "second tier fighter"? he has wins over some of the top guys in the league, thats bullshiat!

I cant wait to see this fight, Rypien will make believers out of you yet!!

Kypreos was recently raving about Rypien on Sportsnet, face it fukkstick's the guy is a "special" fighter.

This should silence the anti-Rypien crowd a bit. After two games where players were using their forearms in fights against Rypien and Glass, this tape becomes an issue? I bet the spirit/intent of the rule is missed here on this one. Just because it's Buttman I bet Rypper gets one game.

I also heard he turned down Asham. I've read it on here about 15 times.

You would have to be trolling to think janssen is a 2nd tier fighter and that rypien should have to fight boogaard

If Rippers thumb was taped then only a skimming shot would have cut open Cammer if that?... a proper tight clenched fist index, middle finger and the thumb over top with the ring and baby finger tightly clenched...

Have yet to see the fight but I think Alain Vigneault had a legit response listening to the recaps...

As for the ejection:

Pretty black and white, there's no room for discretion there. You can fight with it on, but if you bloody a guy you're gone.

Not really, I think people are getting a little too excited. They both through a bunch a landed a bunch, Rypien looked to land a couple more of the better ones. I wouldn't say he took it to him. Not to many guys are going to beat Rypien if that fight him wide open like that, he's just to fast and talented.

True.

And if you give him enough time, he'll take it off and still make you look like a little girl... just ask Krys Barch...
