I can see both sides of Weise-Thornton. Definitely lame from a Bruins stand point and definitely bad sportsmanship. But on the other hand, Weise had a lot of pressure on him at that point as the top dog for the Canucks with a team of salivating Bruins bearing down on them so I can see why he'd do it. It was cheap but somewhat understandable. Him likely getting beaten up by Thornton there and leaving his teammates to deal with the rest of the Bruins scrappers wouldn't have been doing his team any favors.
What he said.

Perhaps a slight edge to Weise in the first fight. It was certainly a great one.
Draw in the second. Boring.

The Canucks top line was on a line change when Weise came out. Burrows tapped Paille's shins on the way by and was slashed then punched. Henrik left the ice to complete the change. Lucic, on the other hand, left the ice, returned and got involved withe melee. Automatic 10 game suspension for Milan. No hearing, no question about it.

Marchand's clipping of Salo without the puck was just another dirty play. I expect him to miss a few games as well for that.

Boston was diving all night. What was with that? I thought they were unbeatable? So many infractions not called. Just before Burrows tipped in Hodgson's shot, Hodgson gets a stick broken across his leg. Bieksa should have gotten a call for breaking Chara's stick but the Bruins were lucky not to be sitting the entire game in the box. High head shot on Ebbett that broke his collarbone not called. How many slew foots and hung legs by the Bruins not called?

The Canucks called their bluff and WON where it counts.
The Canucks turned down fights left and right, and was caught on TV for all to see.

Funny I saw Bieksa taunting the fans at the end of the game hitting his stick against the boards, It's almost like they won the Stanley Cup...

horrible camerawork on that "line brawl" you have a bunch of guys hussin and fussin over by the bench. who cares? you have a full fledged minute and a half fight - CUT TO IT! i know its not easy for the cameraguy, but you know burrows isnt gonna fight. you know bieksa isnt gonna fight anyone who has an inch or a pound on him.

also, alberts needs to make his presence known in a game like this. i know hes not the second coming of tony twist but hes by far the closest thing vancouver has to a legitimate fighter

Fairly certain that The Canucks didn't lose a scrap this game...

I wish we had a true scrapper on our Canucks but we don't. I can't change that. Winning eases that pain.

Any comment on how often your 'tough' team dives? I kept expecting to see a splash every time a Bruin went down. That was embarrassing!

Both fights were draws.

Don't talk down to far tougher teams that have legit scrappers.

Who dove? Unless you think Paille dove....which is a stretch as he was already losing his balance b4 he went down that was a bad call (and there were many). The Canucks had 9 PP's they got plenty of calls.

What are your thoughts on the numerous (too many to list) turn downs that the Canucks had?

A few thoughts.

Bruins are insanely tough up and down the lineup and flat out nasty.

Bieksa is one of the fakest tough guys around. He has no problem going after Victor Stahlberg and Patrick Marleau but when the big boys (hell even the MWs) come calling he's nowhere to be found. He kept his gloves on in the scrum by the bench and stood idly by while Lucic rag dolled Hamhuis and Burrows, and then put Kevin in a headlock. What a fraud that Bieksa is.

Also, I hate Brad Marchand. The man is a dirty dirty player with a big yap who is able to get away with things because he has 6 or 7 legit fighters backing him. One day I hope he gets his before his boys Chara or Mcquaid can come in and defend him.

All in all, a very entertaining game.

Yeah he's a "dick" because he was helping pull off the 6 Canucks that jumped Thornton. Too bad that coward Burrows wouldn't man up and fight him. Montreal West indeed.
