Toronto at Montreal 2/9/13

Mark Fraser vs. Brandon Prust

These two come together after the play goes up the ice. Obviously, Prust is fed up with the leafs scoring antics and Fraser is a willing combatant. Both throwing some pretty good punches in the tilt. I think Fraser landed 2 or 3 good shots to Brandon's head sending his squash protector flying at one point. On first view, Draw. Good showing, wish Ryan White was dressed or that Subban went into one of his mental relapses to spruce this game up more.

Gallagher vs Kostka:

Gallagher has been battling with Phaneuf all night and pushes/cross checks him into Reimer sending them both flying. Kostka goes after Gallagher who kind of just grabs his head and facewashes him pulling his helmet off and Kostka throws the gloves! Kostka tries a couple of short lefts that don't do anything and Gallagher throws a big right that looked to land. Kostka answers with a right to the side of the helmet, and starts flailing but not connecting with some punches. Gallagher lands another hard right. Kostka then tries a couple of uppercuts that miss, then puts Gallagher in a bulldog, then uses his size advantage to basically push/skate Gallagher to the ground.

This is a powder keg late. After the two scraps there was a big scrum where the Canadiens were mad at some softies on Toronto. Prust comes in and throws two gloved punches and Subban even fired a gloved punch at someone but like I said, Toronto had no toughness on the ice at the time. The Leaf that got punched by Subban only wanted to talk things out.

Not sure why Prust wanted to hit the Leaf player but not a good idea with Colton Orr on the bench. He Will go after a non fighter just ask Ovechkin. Not smart on Prust's part and I can't believe it just happened while I was typing. Orr just mauled someone. Gotta go watch this again.

Kyle McLaren vs Jaques Georges

Caught this one late and seen McLaren roughing up Georges pretty well. They were both throwing punches but McLaren had the better advantage over Georges and he covered up and the linesmen come in.

Orr With a 10 Minute Misconduct (Fck you Zebras) and 4 for roughing.

This game might crack the 100 penalty minute mark.

edit: Looks like it did. 106 penalty minutes.

Oh my God did Orr just land a right on #17. This is too fXcking funny. McLaren went with Georges(sp?) and while McLaren got the best of it Goerges really put up a fight in a big size mismatch. McLaren was laughing and I thought he was going to get TKO'd while laughing. The linesman was also holding his arm as Georges was throwing rights.

Orr and the leafs mauling the enforcer less habs. Their games should be real interesting the rest of the year. Montreal has a lot young talent playing big minutes. Love Prust but he's gotta feel a bit overwhelmed. What's happened to Moen?

All wins for Toronto in the fight department. Montreal cries and cries and writes cheques their asses can't cash. Loved every minute of this one. And someone tell patches to calm down. Don't put your hand in someone's mouth then cry cause you get bit.

I loved Orr gooning it up in the third. That is exactly what heavyweight enforcers should do when they face a team without a heavyweight. Now it's up to Montreal to toughen up some more to keep that from happening again.
