Orr doesn't NEED to fight anyone...let alone MacIntyre. Why fight some idiot who plays 20 games a season and gets less ice time than the locker room attendant?

I agree Ewen21, Orr was a bit baby choicing easier opponent although Stortini is that solid guy, not smallest man in hockey game

What's the point? That's why the leafs have guys like Brown, Orr and Rosehill, they don't pay Dion to fight, just in case you didn't know that stupid. I hate the Leafs more then anyone, but reading stupid posts like this is so annoying. Of course Dion would go after Taylor Hall, he's the Oil's best player and if you can get him off the ice for 5 minutes then that's smart. Having Dion fight a loser like Peckham makes no sense, you want Peckham on the ice as much as possible because he's terrible. Understand the game and realize that fighting has a reason, these guys just don't do it because it's fun you dummies. Get a clue before you post.
And you do the same.

That era is dead and gone. Most teams these days don't even have a legit number 2 guy to take up arms for a beaten number 1.

I blame the new NHL. I blame Ron Wilson for cuffing Orr in a 4 - 1 game. I blame MacIntyre for not forcing Orr's hand. And I blame Orr for not just saying f*ck it and taking them off.
Great post B*O, which is why you and CatSmasher are about the only credible Leafs posters on here, bar CS's blatant hatred for Chris Neil...

I think what you and the others, saying the same thing, are forgetting, is that Stortini threw a knee on a leaf, not long before the fight. Orr was doing his job. Also...Stortini had to take the faceoff, so if MacIntyre wanted to fight Orr, he had a chance, but instead skated the other way, when the puck dropped. We all know that Orr will fight anyone.

As for the fight....WIN Orr.

I watched the game and Stortini really threw a dirty, dangerous hit to Belarus hockey player Grabovski(almost knee on knee hit).
So Orr did his job to beating Orr clearly.

This thread has only one message. If you did not watch the game, then dont fukking comment on what you see during a 2min video clip. Orr isn't on the ice to satisfy your fighting needs, he's on there to enforce which is EXACTLY what he did when he decided to fight Stortini.

Coach's Corner

Don Cherry just basically backed up Orr on Coach's Corner, blasting those who said Orr was ducking and that he should have fought Mac. I think his last quote was " why does Stortini need someone to fight his battles " ? Exactly what I said earlier this week.
